Inside a 48-Hour Build

Hour by hour, what happens between the first call and the site going live.

Where are you?Updated September 2026 · 3 min read

Quick answer

A 48-hour website build runs on a fixed sequence: kickoff call at hour zero, homepage draft by hour four, all pages on a private link by hour twelve, client review at hour 24, full QA at hour 36 and launch at 48. It works because scope is fixed and copy, design and development happen in parallel.

TorontoWe run this exact timeline for businesses in North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York, Downtown and the Beaches and across Toronto. The kickoff call runs on video, from our Toronto base. We work with you by video and on site where it helps.

The clock, in detail

Step through the build stages. This is the same timeline that runs on our homepage.

20 minutes. Sitemap, services, areas and look agreed. We need: your logo and a list of services.

Estimates only, based on what we see across clients in Toronto, the GTA and Montréal. Book a 20-minute call for numbers specific to your business.

What happens at hour zero?

The build starts with a free 20-minute call. You leave with a launch date.

The call covers who you are, who your customers are, what they need to do on the site and what you already have. Those notes drive every decision made in the next 48 hours.

How do design and content get done so fast?

Design and content run in parallel from hour one, not one after the other. One person lays out the pages while another writes them from the call notes.

By the end of the first working day you see a homepage that already reads like your business.

48 hours is working time, not calendar time. The clock runs on production hours and pauses while waiting on the client.

What gets built between hours 8 and 20?

The design becomes a working site: fast, mobile-first, forms wired to instant replies and Google Business Profile connected.

Photos are placed during this phase. If you did not supply images, they are sourced and edited. Up to 8 pages are built and written for your business, all included in the plan.

What does the owner review between hours 20 and 36?

You review the site on your phone and tell us what is off. Most review rounds come back with a dozen small changes.

Changes during the build are included. You do not need to batch feedback or wait for a new quote. The team makes the changes the same day and the build continues.

Phase Hours What happens What you do
Kickoff call 0 Colour direction agreed, launch date set Answer questions, confirm scope
Design and content 1 to 8 Pages laid out and written in parallel Nothing
Build 8 to 20 Live site assembled, forms and profile connected Nothing
Client review 20 to 36 Private link sent, changes made same day Click through, send feedback
QA and launch 36 to 48 Every page, form and link tested, domain pointed live Nothing

What does QA cover before launch?

QA runs from hour 36 to hour 48 and covers every page on every screen size, every form submitted, every link clicked and performance measured.

Once QA passes, the domain points at the new site and it goes live. The care plan starts the same night, covering hosting, SSL, uptime monitoring every minute, security updates within 24 hours and nightly backups kept 30 days.

Why does the 48-hour timeline work?

It works because scope is fixed before the build starts and design and content run in parallel.

Fixed scope means the sitemap is agreed before work begins, so the team can move without stopping to wait for direction.

The plan is $297 a month with no upfront build cost. The first payment is due the day the site goes live. Read how the 48-hour offer works and what you need to have ready before the call.

If your project needs more than a standard build, such as an online store or customer portal, that is quoted separately after a call. Most local service business sites fit the 48-hour process. You can also read about web design in Toronto or what a website costs in Toronto to compare your options.

Questions we get asked

Is 48 hours working time or calendar time?

Working time. The clock runs on our production hours. If you take a day to review, the calendar stretches but our two working days do not.

What does the owner need to do during the build?

Answer questions on the kickoff call and review the site during the review phase. Those are the only two things required of you.

What if my site needs more than a standard build?

Online stores, customer portals and custom software are quoted separately after a call. Most local service business sites fit the 48-hour process.

When does the care plan start?

The care plan starts the same night the site goes live and covers hosting, SSL, uptime monitoring, security updates and nightly backups from day one.
